Gary Jones entertains guests in his studio in LA

7/5 OFT Day 30 (MT)

Top of the World, MT (10,200')

6/22 OFT Day 16 (Greybull, WY)

Diaper change, Billy B-style

6/15 OFT Day 9 (WY)

My motel (Chugwater, WY) phone rang. The front desk said foul weather - hail - was expected and that I should move my car to a nearby shed. I followed a raggedy pickup a few blocks, drove in and got a ride back. Excellent customer service, or the best tourist scam ever?

6/8 OFT Day 2 (CO)

6/6

Tomorrow (Sunday, 6/7) the Old Fool's Tour 2015 begins: 20 states, 36 friends and family in roughly 6,000 miles over three months - or so.

In approximate order I'm bound for CO, WY, CA (SFO, LAX, SAN), NV, NM, TX (DFW, HOU, GT), AR, AL, TN, GA, NC, VA, DC, MD, PA, NY, MI, IL, WI and back to MO.

Save the first two stops, it's impossible to say precisely when I'll get to various locations, but I'll be in touch as my iTin becomes clear.

I hope to see you this quarter.

6/4

I was just visited by two FBI Special Agents and a TSA/Homeland Security agent. They had a report that someone in my apartment (they had a number, but not a name) had talked about building and taking a bomb onboard an airliner. They were here to investigate. I assured them that no such conversation had taken place in my presence. My meager credentials: senior editor for news (Ret) at the local paper, graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy (with decorations), and a State Department/TSA Trusted Traveler, must have convinced them that I was not a suspicious character. After a 20-minute chat, I said, "Ooo, I've got a story to tell now." They laughed and left.

Between my new metal hip and whatever list I may now be on, my next plane trip is guaranteed to involve issues.
